Because generally elderly people owe a house, they do not want to get assistance from residential centres. This is the case of the Ruhama's beneficiaries from Oradea City. Considering the difficulties faced everyday, elderly people requested the homecare services in order to secure a decent life. Through its homecare services, Ruhama Foundation provides social, socio-medical and medical interventions, the beneficiaries being elderly people with retirement age and people with disabilities. On monthly basis, Ruhama Foundation assists through homecare services 90 persons out of which an average of 30 benefits of free assistance and the rest contributes financially according to the incomes they have. Most of the beneficiaries requested services of therapy, hygiene, housekeeping, cleaing, company, shopping etc. The team delivering the services is made of 22 people with different specializations: qualified caregivers and licensed social workers, therapists, physiotherapists, medical nurses, students and volunteers.
Monday 20th of August 2007, the Ruhama Foundation office hosted the public presentation of the activity report of the homecare services for the first semester of 2007.
Accreditation for 3 types of services
The homecare services' activity range covers Oradea City and sector 5 of Bucuresti. "Ruhama Foundation is accredited and authorized to provide three types of services: homecare for elderly, homecare and recovery for disabled people and medical homecare. The homecare service includes three categories of intervention: social interventions that could be information about certain rights or facilitating access to different social services; socio-medical interventions that could be personal hygiene, feeding the dependent person; kinetotherapy services and medical interventions that could be monitoring the physiologic parameters" has explained Mrs. Tina Daragiu, the Chief Executive of Ruhama Foundation.
