Through the microproject “Equipment for the recreation space for preschool children of the kindergarten from Astileu commune, Bihor County”, the Astileu Town Hall and Ruhama Foundation aim to equip an adequate playground for the kindergarten in Astileu commune, kindergarten located in the common yard with the local school. In the existing conditions, the preschool children do not have a marked space in which to carry out outdoor activities, risking thus to get hurt by elder children, and they lack playing equipments specific to their age. The beneficiaries of this project are the over 20 children from Astileu kindergarten, for whom the play represents the most important activity at this age and is inter-correlated with the learning process and the harmonious growth and development. Hence, the children will enjoy a adequate recreation space, just like children from the city.

The parents of the preschool children will have the certainty that their kids benefit of an adequate recreational ground for their harmonious development. Also, the parents will get more involved in the kindergarten’s life having the opportunity to organize together with the educators outdoor activities with the children. Parents and educators will be encouraged to get involved in arranging the playground (fence rehabilitation, green space maintenance), stimulating thus their involvement in the educational life of their children and to develop the social ownership over the educational space.

The kindergarten will dispose of a secure and attractive environment not only for the children currently enrolled in kindergarten but we estimate that the preschool environment will become more attractive for parents and children thus increasing the number of children enrolled in small and medium groups in the next years. The project is financed through the Small Grants Scheme within the project component Socio-Economic Regeneration from the loan nr. 4759-RO - managed by ARDDZI, and it is implemented by Ruhama Foundation in partnership with Astileu Town Hall.
