Ruhama Foundation organized on October 1st 2009, at the organization’s centre, a social and cultural event on the occasion of the Elderly International Day, consisting in a culinary competition among the beneficiaries of the Ruhama Foundation’s Homecare Services. The action was attended by 17 assisted elderly, 2 young volunteers and 5 member of the foundation’s team. The competition was based on the customs and traditions from the close and extended family and the menu of each participant lied on a story from the past. The family atmosphere was animated by the music sung by students from the Arts High School. As any other contest, a jury awarded the competitors and offered diplomas for the look of the cooked food, the quality or the traditional taste. The activity was sponsored by Scala Pastry Schop, who offered the participants cakes and sweets, and by “Teofil Molcut” Individual Company, who offered flowers. The event was part of the activities carried out under the project “Cultural diversity and dialogue”, financed by the Oradea City Hall through the Law 350 regarding grant awarding for associations and foundations.
