New course for the staff of educational institutions/organizations working with Roma children and/or adults

Ruhama Foundation’s new course is addressed to the schools (i.e any institutions providing general, vocational or technical education on any level from pre-school to upper secondary education), which have Roma children from Romania enrolled in their programs and wish to develop/enhance the competencies of their education staff within the ERASMUS+ framework/opportunity to more effectively relate to Roma pupils and their care-givers.

Ruhama Foundation (from Oradea, north-west Romania), based on its 18 years’ experience in programs addressing the social inclusion of Roma through inter-sectorial partnerships with the Ministry of Education, Public Service of Employment, School Inspectorates and over 450 schools in Romania,  programs/projects aiming to increase the access to Early Childhood Education and Care services, to increase the school attendance of Roma children and reduce the dropout rate, designed a course that could be provide for the school education staff and for practitioners in adult education programs.

The course develops the skills necessary for the educational staff to more effectively cope with intercultural realities in the context of Roma ethnic immigrants in the community.

The course is structured in 5 full training days (Saturday to Wednesday) and will be organized in 2014 and 2015. The location of the training is Băile Felix, a thermal spa resort near Oradea city, in Bihor County, located in the North West part of Romania, very close to 3 international airports (1) Cluj Napoca –România –2 ½ hours car ride; (2) Debrecen – Hungary – one hour car ride; (3) Budapest – Hungary – is also in comfortable distance - 3 hours car ride.
